Microsoft 365 is always kept updated with the latest security updates, bug fixes and features as long as you have a current Microsoft 365 subscription and have not paused updating. Microsoft is still issuing security updates for these Office versions as of December 2022. If you’ve noticed after reading this article that you’re no longer receiving security updates, it’s time to switch to a modern version. And, of course, these will compromise your system if you do not have the latest updates. Mainly because outdated versions are more vulnerable to hackers, particularly in the case of opening malicious emails, documents, or images.

Outlook also does not allow the user to disable Cached Exchange Mode, unlike the Windows version, and it is therefore not possible to connect to an Exchange Server without downloading a local cache of mail and calendar data. Microsoft does not support CalDAV and CardDAV in Outlook, so there is no way to sync directly Outlook through iCloud. It also has several human language limitations, such as lack of support for right-to-leftlanguages such as Arabic, Persian, and Hebrew and automatic language detection. It also cannot handle attachments in Rich Text Format e-mail messages sent from Outlook for Windows, which are delivered as winmail.dat attachments. It does not support ActiveX controls, or OpenDocument Format. Office for Mac 2011 has a number of limitations compared to Office 2010 for Windows. It replaces Entourage, which was included in Office 2001, X, 20 for Mac.

Its interface is now more similar to Office 2007 and 2010 for Windows, with the addition of the ribbon. Microsoft Office 2011 includes more robust enterprise support and greater feature parity with the Windows edition.
